Event Details
Join Mayor Anthony Williams and Councilman Adrian Fenty in running this 5K, and you may win the $500 first prize, or other prizes. Free food, refreshments and t-shirts will be distributed. This 5K will mark the beginning of Georgia Avenue Day, which annually draws approximately 30,000 people to the Georgia Avenue corridor. This year, under the careful planning of Support-A-Child, International,The run will focus on important community issues such as health, fitness and positive music. Proceeds from the event will go to Suport-A-Child's educational program, Positive Music Works, which teaches area youth how to do music production. Once they have had professional training, they are able to use the programs to express themselves creatively and without profanity or negativity.

If you are unable to run yourself, you may donate $5, which will allow a young person in the District to participate. Any other donations are greatly appreciated. Your support will make a successful event. Support-A-Child is A 501(c)3 and contributions are tax deductible.
