"Getting Started Program (Skill Level 1)

Please Note: Our leagues and clinics are designed and set up for our EWGA Members. Non members are welcome to enroll at a non-member fee if space is available. Please contact Clinics for details.

Cost:
$159.00 – due with registration
(Fee includes (11)eleven 90-minute instructional sessions, all learning materials and all greens fees. This is a $215+ value)

Dates:
Clinic conisists of (11) 1.5 hour sessions
THURSDAYS June 8th to August 24th 7:00 - 8:30pm (week of July 4th is skipped)

Objectives: The EWGA has designed skills based education programs to target the needs of different groups of golfers: “Getting Started” is aimed at non-golfers (no golf experience), new golfers (very little golf experience), and golfers returning to the game after a substantial absence. The program should help you achieve the following objectives:

  • Provide an introduction to the game of golf
  • Provide an understanding of the basic terminology, rules & etiquette of golf
  • Teach the fundamentals for all five basic golf shots (full swing, putting, chipping, pitching, sand

Minimum of 8 required to run the clinic.

The “Getting Started” Program has two components:
  • EWGA First Swing
    • 6 (1.5 hour ea.) skill development sessions (clinics) taught by PGA Professional, Tim Drossart, provide an introduction to the basic terminology, rules, etiquette and 5 basic golf shots (full swing, putting, chipping, pitching, sand)
  • EWGA Play Days
    • 5 on-course playing sessions–-90 min. each. Greens fees included.
  • EWGA developed student guide covering all instruction material is included
  • Student also receives a certificate upon “graduation” from the EWGA Getting Started Program
